Hmmm, when I was a child… wait, let me start over. A long, long time ago -- okay, this is really hard. “John Mountain get over here! Tell everybody that I’m a cool chick and let’s move on.”

I wonder if John (Chicago actor) needs to sign some sort of release for me to mention him like this?

I wonder about a lot of things. See, I worry. Not just a little, a lot. So if I put you out as an extra in a movie, please, please, show up. Please be cool. Please be wonderful. I think you guys are the greatest, I do. I have worked with many wonderful people, wonderful extras. I’m always glad to meet great folks.

Back to me -- I’ve been casting for a dang, long time. I love finding the exact right face for each scene. Believe it or not there is a particular look to each scene and it does matter what type of person is out there. I will go to great lengths to find the right look. That’s the fun part. While casting High Fidelity I spent almost two weeks straight holding midnight casting calls in bars all over Chicago. What a blast! You can see/feel the energy in that film. I like to think it had something to do with the amazing extras I found for that show. Don’t you think?  Just nod, yes. Ha ha

I am huge into comedy. I write sketch comedy, feature scripts and shorts, plus I’m in an amazing screenwriters’ workshop called The Left Door. All the writers in there are like fantastic and have accomplished great things with their scripts. I pretty much am just “in there.” Oh, well, I’ve got a good personality. Sigh.

Just kidding! I think I’m pretty, I mean, a pretty darn good screenwriter too. I’m working on a killer Irish comedy… Watch for it.
